Pokemon go doesn’t need an introduction anymore. It’s the fastest growing game today. It is a free-to-play location-based, augmented reality game developed by Niantic for iOS and Android devices.
Typically played on mobile phones, players use the device’s GPS and camera to capture, battle, and train virtual creatures, called Pokémon, who appear on the screen as if they were in the same real-world location as the player. The game is free-to-play, although in-app purchases are advertised for additional gameplay items.
Pokémon Go was released to mixed reviews. Reviewers praised the game’s concept and the incentive to be more active in the real world, while criticising technical issues apparent at launch. It quickly became one of the most used mobile apps shortly after release, and was downloaded by more than 75 million people worldwide. It was credited with popularising location-based and augmented reality gaming, as well as for promoting physical activity. It also attracted controversy for contributing to accidents and becoming a public nuisance at some locations.
As you install the game via google play (in countries where it has been released) or via apk available on various sites.
After the install as you open the app you will be greeted with a login screen where their will be 2 options to log into the game namely google login and Pokémon trainers Club login. You can choose anyone of the two.
Once you are done with the login the loading screen will appear where a message is clearly given to stay alert at all the times and to stay aware of your surroundings neglecting that can result in serious mishap. So please take the message real serious and stay aware of your surroundings and if possible try to play this game with your group of friends as this will help each one of you to remain interactive and alert all the times.
So now as the loading’s done you will be presented with an avatar customisation screen where you can change the look and feel of your avatar in the game.
Once done with the customisation of the avatar, the game will open and your avatar will be introduced in an augmented reality world where the location and immediate surroundings will be fed from the google map and all the streets visible are the real world roads .
For the first time when you enter the game you will be presented with an option of 3 Pokemon’s namely Bulbasaur, charmander and squirtle. You can select any one of them or you can run away from them 5 times to get a pikachu if you want . After that you have to catch Pokemons as much as you can by walking to the places where you think they can live like water Pokemons can be caught near lakes, ponds or any other water body and similarly for other Pokemons but one thing is for sure is that the heavily populated places are more likely to have Pokemons in the vicinity rather than a cold deserted place. You have to throw the pokeballs at the Pokemons as soon as you see them in your vicinity (your phone will vibrate when they will come in your range if the app is open at that point of time).
Now coming to the other part of the game the Pokeballs – the life line of the game. Pokeballs can become a problem if you live in a place where their are less Pokestops or no Pokestops at all.As the Pokestops are derived from the previous game from the Niantic labs called Ingress so only the places that are marked their as check points are Pokestops as of now (but they are planning to introduce MC’D and other food outlets as potential pokestops in upcoming updates) but until then you have to use the pokeballs smartly if their are less pokestops near you.
As you reach level 5 you will be asked to join a team out of the 3 teams:-
- Team Instinct(Yellow)
- Team Mystic(Blue)
- Team Valor (Red)
As you catch the Pokemons and progress further your level in the game will increase and you will find Pokemons with higher CP(Combat Power) and later make them battle in the Poke-gyms where the players fight for the sake of prestige for them as well as their team.
As the game require a Android or IOS device with a 2G,3G or 4G activated data pack(if you are going out) and a GPS for locating your present location . As both of these will drain your device battery very quickly so it is highly recommended to get yourself a Power Bank to keep your device up for a long time to play the game without caring about your device battery.
Since the release of the game and due to the heavy traffic on the server the game constantly freezes and crashes. Also many of the times the server down temporarily screen appears due to the server maintenance issue and sometimes the games freezes the instant you catch a Pokemon making it difficult to know if you caught the Pokemon or not.Although with the no. of countries being added in the app released list the issue’s are decreasing but still sometimes it can make the player frustrated .
What to expect in the upcoming updates:-
Well definately additions of more pokestops will be definately present in the upcoming updates. Also friendly battles and Pokemon transfer within the player’s themselves are also amongst the things that are going to be present inside the coming updates.
A final Verdict:-
As of the verdict, Pokemon GO is a highly addictive game and also a fun game made for the people to come out of their houses and to make them walk and interact with other people and is really and initiative worth praising but the amount of time you should be spending on the app should be carefully monitored.
Stay tuned for more information and other update information as we will be updating this post as soon the new updates are available.
